You mentioned that w/ the Drew Tech mongoose pro you 'still' need to get a J2534 box AND a bidirectional scan tool? I thought that w/ the mongoose pro for HDS, a laptop and the HDS subs you'd be good to go (plus battery maintainer, etc). In addition, HDS subscription is supposed to give you dealer level diag as long as you have a J2534 pass-thru cable/device like the Mini-VCI. I'm trying to do a few things.įirst, to check and update the firmware versions of the PGM-FI/PCM/ECM with Honda's J2534 free pass-thru software. Make sure to remove the old drivers first. These are the only instructions that I found that worked. Few months ago I tried the cheap Chinese garbage, thankfully I bought it via Amazon and returned it right after testing failed miserably.
