It is very intuitive and seems like it is a solid winner, but I would like to see if I can hear from some of you P30 owners out there, or if you're shot one but don't own one. I like everything about the gun as I handle it in the store. Now I have the opportunity to buy a like new (I'm assuming a factory reconditioned gun like Sig does) P30 9mm, and I have it set aside at my LGS. ![]() I had to change my entire grip to accommodate it so that my thumb would not touch the lever locking the slide back, and at the end of the day I just didn't want to do that when no other gun I liked forced me to do that. Some six months and a couple thousand rounds later I came to the conclusion that the VP9 wasn't the gun for me mainly b/c of the position of the slide lock. I opted instead to go with the VP9 at the time it came out simply b/c I considered the P30 to be too expensive ($900ish at the time I learned about its existence), so when the VP9 came out I jumped on it. I'm quite familiar with the Sig, but I am and have been intrigued by the P30 ever since my cousin introduced his to me several years ago. I've looked at the FN and CZ, but these two really seem to fit me better. ![]() You can change the frames to fit your hand/method of carry much easier than you can with the P229. Ill also mention that the P320 is modular. I've been contemplating getting a DA/SA pistol for EDC/GP defense, and I've really narrowed it down to these two. That wont stop me from carrying my P229, but its worth considering.
